Episode 80 - Ozzy and the Boys

Why does this podcast exist? No one can answer that question, but maybe we'll have better luck figuring out why these cartoons exist. The first one has a cat named Oggy and several cockroaches, and things ensue; like Oggy playing with a toy train as an alternative to video games, or Oggy being harassed by a ravenous robot mouse, or Oggy... being pregnant? Okay. And then there's another thing called Cipher, and I don't even know. It definitely has twins in it and takes place at least partially in New York, but beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. Plus, Micah examines what Magic: the Gathering players can invest their hard-earned money in besides useful cards, and tells us about the film Persepolis, while Matsy gets ready for the scary season by reviewing the harrowing combination of Netflix, Nick Kroll, and puberty. I'm scared already.

Episode 79 - Felidae+

This week on Animation Cel-ery, we're watching a movie from Germany about a feline detective investigating a serial killer of felines. Or... at least half of us are. Half of us might have something else in mind. You'll have to listen to find out! Plus, Matsy rambles about some things like Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and whatever, and Micah watches Rilakkuma's Theme Park Adventure. Good times all around!

Episode 78 - Flipperboobootosis and Friends

This is the time for us to watch some more short cartoons. We're going to watch a marriage dissolve thanks to a dispute about unicorns. We're going to watch modern day Mickey, Donald and Goofy deal with important subjects like nudity and health care. We'll watch what happens when a 4-year-old is conscripted into the military. And we're going to watch Popeye walk a dog, which is more interesting than it sounds. Plus, Micah checks out the reincarnation of Bee and Puppycat and a movie called Drifting Home, while Matsy checks on how Rick and Morty are doing lately. And unlike some podcasts, we welcome listeners with no shirts or shoes!

Parodies! Let's talk about 'em. We have that one episode of The Simpsons that was a parody of something. What's that? You want me to narrow it down? It's the one with Sherri Bobbins. And then we have that one episode of Dexter's Laboratory... actually, TWO episodes of Dexter's Laboratory! Bonus! And each one has three segments! All the Dexter you could ever want! Plus, Micah checks in on JoJo's bizarre character designs, and Matsy doesn't do anything because he's too busy looking forward to Splatoon 3, so he just falls back on Beavis and Butt-Head again. Hey, I just realized that Disney owns The Simpsons now. Awkward...

Episode 75 - Where There’s Five .WAV’s, There’s a Way

Okay, this episode was really cursed; it took two joint recording sessions, two solo recording sessions, and two editing sessions to produce. So please excuse our dust as we try to watch Rankin Bass's animated version of The Return of the King! There's these two hobbits, and they need to destroy a ring. Sounds easy, right? Yeah, everything seems easy until you try to do it. Plus, Matsy opens up another My Little Pony blind box thing and talks AGAIN about ANOTHER re-launch of Beavis & Butt-Head, while Micah digs into the more sordid side of Sailor Moon's history. Or, well, not sordid in the way you're probably thinking of.

Episode 74 - Books and Mooses

In this one we watch two cartoons about Mickey Mouse hunting the enraged bull moose, a cartoon about books coming to life, and... wait, I have to slow down here. It says "The Hobbit?" That can't be right. Well, I guess we're watching The Hobbit! Plus, Micah checks on the latest in tabletop RPGs, including NOT Dungeons & Dragons Sixth Edition and something about Alethrion, and investigates the latest in the apparently endless stream of He-Man reboots, while Matsy gets annoyed at character designs in The Cuphead Show and the latest in the apparently endless stream of Disney shows, Hamster & Gretel. Precious.

Episode 73 - Mr. Delicious

What can be better than food? Let's look at some cartoons about food. There's an anime called Silver Spoon about a guy in farm school, and he gets conscripted into making pizza for everyone. We watched that one. Also there's a The Mr. Men Show, based on those books, remember? Anyway, that show has a zillion segments about food and food accessories, so we watched two of those. Plus, Matsy watched Nintendo talk about Splatoon 3 and its questionable new idols, Disney's new thing about chibi-ized versions of Phineas and Luz, and a little bit of the horrors of Heavy Metal; and Micah watched more of Tales of Alethrion and some YouTubers. Whoops!

Episode 72 - The Ballad of Lemongrab

Today is the day where we watch a bunch of Adventure Time. Specifically, the episodes dealing with everyone's favorite unacceptable weirdo, the Earl of Lemongrab. We'll see his meteoric rise from shrill dictator, to two breeding fetishists, to one fat dictator, to a relatively benevolent overseer of citric monstrosities. Plus, Micah recommends Maya and the Three, and pays a visit to historic bathhouses in Thermae Romae Novae, while Matsy checks to see how many poops and farts are in The Bob's Burgers Movie. It's brooba-looby!

Episode 71 - Toitles

It's time for the summer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles special, so here we go. Let's see, we've got one where the villainous Shredder gets brainwashed into thinking he's Michelangelo and Michelangelo gets brainwashed into a hunger strike. Here's an Easter one where the turtles have to go to a fairy tale dimension to save the city from the Shredder's secret, nationally broadcasted evil plans. Then Michelangelo is back for the ol' "everyone pretends to forget their friend's birthday so they can throw him a surprise party but the friend gets offended and leaves" deal. And then Krang's body gets reprogrammed to be like a video game, with results almost as disastrous as the TMNT NES game. Plus, Matsy indulges his curiosity about that last episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, watches more Yurei Deco, and skips garbage on Netflix, while Micah remembers Project A-Ko and indulges his curiosity about that last episode of Dungeons & Dragons. This is where the script says I'm supposed to say "cowabunga," but it's 2022 so no.
