Episode 90 - Wintery Things and Star Wars

Hey, come watch some cold cartoons with us! Micah has to watch a couple of things from the National Film Board of Canada, featuring a guy covering up his gross negligence and the utter scandal of a Habs fan having to rep the Leafs. Meanwhile, Matsy observes the gross negligence of the makers of 60's Popeye and an amusing look at the debut of Boba Fett in the Star Wars universe. Or... galaxy. Plus, Micah looks at someone look at Adventure Time trading cards and watches She-Ra steam toward its conclusion, while Matsy watches old Muppet pilots and coffee commercials, and tries to investigate whether Rick and Morty is lazy or parody. Episode 89 - STR 20

Today we look at strength. That's pretty holiday-themed, right? We start by maxing out the scale with One Punch Man, who may or may not be the strongest man; we'll find out by the end of the episode. Then we look at The Simp- I mean, The Flintstones, and find out what it meant to be the strongest man-baby in prehistory. Plus, Matsy FINALLY gets to watch Viking Skool and see if it has any good bards, heroes, or wolf girls, while Micah checks on the state of tabletop RPGs and their accoutrements in Japan, and also the state of bizarre adventures. Bamm bamm!

Episode 88 - For Kevin

This week, we honor the world's greatest Batman, Kevin Conroy, by watching Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. A dark caped crusader is killing mobsters, and everyone thinks it's Batman. But Batman doesn't kill, so what gives? Is there a new costumed crimefighter in Gotham? On a completely unrelated note, Bruce Wayne's ex-fiance has also come back to town after ten years. That'll probably work out fine for him. Plus, Micah gets to the part of She-Ra with Mica and watches gothic anime The Girl from the Other Side, while Matsy finds a new cartoon that isn't in English, so he watches 1972 Hanna-Barbara sitcom Wait Till Your Father Gets Home instead. Wait till you hear this podcast!

Episode 87 - NOW That’s What I Call Cartoons!

Well, the idea was cartoons about celebrities, and we did that. But we also tapped into a very specific pool of celebrities, it turned out. Matsy has to watch The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, featuring young Koopalings who were still trying to figure out who they were and two very special guest stars who were not who they seemed. And Micah is watching Hammerman, which definitely has who it seemed to have as a celebrity star, but maybe didn't have as much as you'd think in the way of... I don't know... animation? Plus, Matsy is playing a video game in which you have to catch 'em all while wondering who caught all the frames per second and where they hid them, and also watched a thing on Netflix called Oddballs about some guy and an alligator and a toaster, while Micah watches a movie about someone who did parodies of songs by both our celebrity guests, on the same album! Weird!

Episode 86 - Wildlife

Today is for animals. We have two penguins, one cold and one not so much, one dealing with Smedley the dog and one dealing with Bugs the bunny. We also have a man who is also a spider, and he has to deal with an obsessed newsman and a ridiculous rob't. And then we have a bunch of weird Russian critters, walking. Plus, Micah updates us on the men of She-Ra and whether Wendell & Wild is worth watching, while Matsy leads us on a trip through fun place names. Your place is here, at Animation Cel-ery.

Everybody got your Movember mustaches growing? Well, we've got you covered! The Tick has a mustache, apparently, and we're going to get to the bottom of where it came from. And then we'll look at how mustaches relate to puberty and plumbers in Gumball's amazing world. Plus, Matsy catches up with the Infinity Train, and Micah continues with She-Ra, Bee and Puppycat, and halflings. See ya.

Episode 84 - Mistakes Were Made

Oh look, it's cartoons that get things wrong. Like this farm cartoon about a bull with udders. Or this space cartoon where you can basically forget everything you know about space, except don't actually because there'll be a quiz at the end! Plus, Micah considers Scorpia's anatomy (if you know what I mean) and makes up his own gritty reboot of The Flintstones, while Matsy remembers Jules Bass. Play this podcast loud, especially in space where everyone can definitely hear it!

Episode 83 - Rock & Rule Rules

Hey, Matsy finally gets to talk about the movie he won't shut up about! It's the 1983 epic that almost ruined Nelvana, in which an aging rock star in post-apocalyptic furryland tries to reinvigorate his career by summoning the devil? How was this a box office failure?! Plus, Matsy remembers the time he watched an episode of Family Guy while playing lightsabers with Gary Coleman, and Micah gets into the spirit with Vampire Hunter D (along with his usual She-Ra and Simpsons). It's the biggest thing since World War III!

Hey, here's something creepy: Animation Cel-ery! We're going to be watching a cartoon where Betty Boop listens to a ghost walrus sing Cab Calloway. Something from Russia about oddities going in a straight line. A ghost named Casper looking for friends, believe it or not. And anime robots accosting an anime drunk. Plus, Micah watches more of She-Ra and The Simpsons, while Matsy terrifies himself with the most embarrassing corner of Ren & Stimpy's canon.

Episode 81 - Bump n’ Bugs

What's theoretically scary in content but actually scary in execution? Let's find out! We'll start with Bump in the Night, in which the monster under the bed is a baby and fights a bread. And then we'll watch The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa do the things you totally expect The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa to do: play Katamari Damacy and spend the night in a haunted house. Plus, Micah gives us his hottest takes on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and Matsy continues his horror month by watching one of MTV's post-Beavis & Butt-Head head-based horrors.
